Church Ministries and Organizations

Church Choir
Rehearsals: Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., September through June. Everyone is invited to sing.

Bible Study
Meets each Friday at 10 a.m. All welcome.

The Presbyterian Women’s Association meets every first Wednesday of the month for mission studies and to organise church activities. Please bring a bag lunch to enjoy in community at 12:30 p.m. The meeting starts at 1 p.m. Both men and women are welcome for these meetings.

The Finance and Maintenance Committee meets at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month.

Session meets at 7:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month.

The Worship and Nurture Committee meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 10:30 a.m. in the minister’s office.

Resident Ministries and Organisations

We host Alcoholics Anonymous groups in Logan-Vencta Hall at 174 First Avenue. The Friendly Group meets at 11 a.m. on Saturdays. The Centennial Group meets at 1 p.m on Saturdays. The┬áMen’s AA Newcomers Group meets at 3 p.m. on Saturdays.┬áRefuge Recovery meets at 6 p.m. on Sundays. First AAvenue to Recovery meets at 8 p.m. on Sundays.

The Good Morning Creative Arts and Preschool is a cooperative, parent-run organisation offering preschool programs for two- and three-year-olds, afternoon programs for kids aged 3-5, and creative arts after school for children in JK-Grade 6. GMCAPS is a licensed child care program, and most of our programs qualify for the federal children’s arts tax credit. They are located in Logan-Vencta Hall at 174 First Avenue, Ottawa.

The New Covenant Apostolic Church meets in Logan-Vencta Hall, 174 First Avenue, second floor. Each Sunday, Sunday School is offered at 10 a.m. with worship following at 11 a.m.

The Ottawa Harmony Singers is a small choir, where every voice counts. They take pride in their singing, but most of all they have fun doing it. Their director is a fabulous voice teacher and under her direction, each chorister has gained confidence and improved their singing. The choir’s concerts are given exclusively in retirement residences. The choir practices in the sanctuary of St Giles at 729 Bank Street, Ottawa, on Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. September through November, and January through March. New members welcome. No audition necessary.

The Peace and Environment Resource Centre works to create an informed public on Peace, Environmental and Social Justice Issues. They are located in Logan-Vencta Hall at 174 First Avenue, Ottawa.

Tucker House‘s mission is to inspire sustainable living. They focus on environmental education, collaborative leadership for sustainability, and eco-spiritual retreats at their historic Georgian-style mansion. Tucker House itself is in Rockland, but the administrative staff have an office in Logan-Vencta Hall at 174 First Avenue, Ottawa.
